Security-first IT support for the East Kootenay

Extra eyes on the computers your business relies on.

Endpoint detection and response (EDR), powered by Huntress.

Malicious software does not always announce itself. StratIS's managed endpoint protection pairs Huntress detection technology with human investigation, helping spot suspicious activity on covered computers and servers and respond when a threat is found.[2]

Investigate unusual computer activity; consider containment A computer shows a branching process with one unusual activity highlighted under a magnifying glass. A dashed containment boundary separates this computer from other network devices. Optional containment can limit spread on supported systems when authorised; it does not guarantee that every threat is stopped. Unusual activity Network Your computer Containment option

More useful than another warning to dismiss.

A security warning is only useful if someone understands it and knows what to do. Managed EDR adds people who investigate suspicious activity, alongside the technology that detects it. Huntress provides that monitoring and response around the clock.[2]

How it helps.

Technology backed by people, with clear responsibilities.

Watch for suspicious behaviour

Huntress looks for signs of malicious activity, including attackers trying to remain hidden, move between computers or start ransomware activity.[2]

Put human investigation behind the tools

Huntress analysts investigate threats and provide context about what happened. Your staff are not expected to become security analysts or sort through raw alerts.[2]

Contain threats and guide cleanup

Huntress can contain and remediate threats on supported, connected endpoints and provide guidance for follow-up work. Capabilities and response actions depend on the system and authorised configuration.[2]

Keep the wider picture in view

StratIS helps fit endpoint protection into the way your business works. We review the computers and servers in scope, existing security tools and how incidents should be communicated.

What that can look like in practice.

An employee opens a file that starts a suspicious program. The program tries to keep running unnoticed and reach other computers. Managed EDR looks for behaviour that may point to an attack, with Huntress investigating and responding where supported. Earlier detection can help limit disruption, but no tool can promise to stop every attack.

Illustrative scenario, not a StratIS client incident or a promised outcome.

A few useful questions.

Clear answers, without the scare tactics.

We already have antivirus. What does EDR add?

Antivirus remains a useful layer. EDR adds monitoring, investigation and response for suspicious activity that needs more attention. We review your existing tools before deciding what should stay, change or be added.[2]

Can you cover Windows, Mac and Linux systems?

Huntress offers agents for Windows, macOS and Linux. We check supported versions, device roles and available features before agreeing coverage. Do not assume every feature is identical across platforms.[2]

Does this protect our cloud accounts too?

EDR is focused on covered computers and servers. Watching for misuse of your business email and cloud accounts is a different layer: ITDR. See managed account protection

Does this replace backups or guarantee we will not be attacked?

No. Keep your backups, updates, safer sign-ins and staff awareness. EDR helps detect and respond to threats; it does not make every device or business immune to an attack.

Who is watching, and who do we contact?

Huntress provides round-the-clock security monitoring and threat investigation. StratIS is your service contact. Our support hours, escalation arrangements and the scope of any additional incident work are agreed separately.

Protection needs a plan around it.

EDR is not a replacement for recoverable backups or a complete incident-response plan. Containment can also interrupt normal work on an affected device. Scope, permissions, communication and recovery responsibilities need to be understood before deployment.

Start with the equipment your team uses.

Tell us roughly how many computers and servers you have, where people work and which security tools are already in place. You do not need a complete inventory to start a conversation.
